SCHEDULE CHANGE

Due to All-County auditions schedule, Indoor Drumline practice this week is on Monday and Wednesday.

PIZZA INN FUNDRAISER - January 19

Students and parents are needed to work our Fundraising Night at Pizza Inn in Greer. This is a relatively easy way to make hundreds of dollars for the band. For this event to happen, we must have volunteers - at least 8 students and 4 parents.

Students will bus tables, get drinks and keep them filled, and be generally helpful. The band receives tips for the night as well as a percentage of the night's sales. Workers must be 16 years old or over.

REGION BAND AUDITIONS & ALL-STATE CALL BACKS

Congratulations to all of the students who traveled to Powdersville High School this past weekend for region band auditions. WHHS was well represented! This past weekend, one of the six regions was forced to cancel their auditions due to a weather advisory from their school district. The other five regions were able to carry on auditions as normal. Because of this cancellation, Region 6 will now hold their auditions on January 26th which was originally the All-State audition weekend. Because of this, the All-State auditions have now been moved to February 2nd at Lexington High School. In the process of making this decision, the SCBDA board of directors also made the decision to hold all Region audition results until after Region 6 is able to hold their auditions.

What that means for us at Wade Hampton: Mr. Pace does not have any results from the auditions and won’t know them for two weeks. Unfortunately, that means students who have received an All-State call back will not know that information until the week of the All-State Auditions.

In the meantime, all students who auditioned for region band should assume they need to prepare for an All-State call back in case they receive one. That means to continue solo/scale/sight reading preparations and to learn the “B” ending of the All-State solo.

ALL-COUNTY AUDITIONS Looking ahead, this week we have our All-County auditions at Mauldin Middle School. Those auditions are still on and we will have the results from that audition on Friday. All students registered to audition at All-County will need to attend those auditions this week at their designated time.

Parents, if you haven't already, please go online to our band portal to verify your student's information and complete the Indoor Drumline participation form and agreement.
