BAND NOTES - October 22, 2018
Last week of marching band season!
Making it to State was the big goal, so now that performance becomes the focus for this week.
Expect additional emails and Remind text with more information.
-- WELCOME TO STATE WEEK --
SC 4A STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS SCHEDULE
10:00 am - Rehearsal begins (please don't wear your red sleeveless shirt for sweaty rehearsal)
12:00 pm - Load truck, eat and change into uniforms
1:30 pm - Depart for Spring Valley High School
3:45 pm - Arrive at Spring Valley High School and unload, quick snack/bathroom
4:30 pm - Visual warm-up
5:25 pm - Walk to music warm-up
5:30 pm - Music warm-up
6:15 pm - Walk to gate
6:20 pm - Gate time
6:30 pm - Perform
7:15 pm - Load truck then eat
8:30 pm - In stands watching bands
(BRING BLANKETS AND JACKETS THAT WILL GO OVER UNIFORMS - EXPECTED TO BE CHILLY!)
10:00 pm - Awards ceremony
10:30 pm - Depart Spring Valley
12:30 am - Arrive at WHHS, change, unload
approx. 1 am - Dismiss (Pick Up Time)
If you are coming to cheer on our awesome band, make sure you arrive by 6 pm to allow for parking, walking, and finding a seat. You aren't allowed to enter a stadium's seating area when a band is performing, so you'll need to arrive well before performance time.
Remember, dismissal time is approximate. Students are not allowed to leave until Mr. Pace dismisses them, which is after everything is unloaded and put away and their meeting is finished.
Volunteer to help at State!
We have a few slots left and need your help - please consider volunteering. You'll have more fun than you expect, and your help is more important than you can imagine.

Food donations needed too!
We are feeding the kids two meals plus snacks on Saturday and we could really use a few more donations to cover the extra needs. If you would prefer, cash donations to help with expenses are always welcome!!

Fruit Sale underway!
Students received information last week about the Annual Band Fruit Sale. Sale will last through November 15th and pick up is tentatively scheduled for December 10th.
Remember, students can sell a minimum of 10 items (fruit or cheesecakes) to reduce the last $100 of band fees.
If you aren't able to pay your band fees, you are expected to sell at least the minimum amount.
