BAND NOTES - April 24, 2018
Here are some reminders and information about band activities from the Band Boosters and A.J. Pace, Director of Bands.
REMEMBER, WE NEED TO HEAR FROM YOU
New band students for 2018, complete the interest form for new students.
Current parents, please log in to your Band Account to confirm your student's participation in WHHS Marching Band 2018.
2017-2018 BAND BANQUET - MAY 7
Our annual banquet includes awards, fun and fellowship, as well as a send off for seniors and a sneak peek at next year. BBQ from Smokehouse 29 will be served with sides, drinks and desserts. Cost is $10 per adult and $6 for students/kids, and we need to know asap how many to expect. Please let us know by May 1st.
FUNDRAISING EVENTS - YOUR HELP NEEDED!
PIZZA INN FUNDRAISER - May 3
For a successful fundraiser, we need:
1. Student Volunteers - 2 shifts
Students will bus tables, get drinks and keep them filled, and be generally helpful. The band receives tips for the night as well as a percentage of the night's sales. Workers must be 16 years old or over.
2. Parent Volunteers
A few adults are also needed to help and monitor our students
Come out to Pizza Inn in Greer between 6 and 9 pm, enjoy the pizza buffet, and remember to tip generously!
SPRING CLEANING YARD SALE/BAKE SALE/CAR WASH - May 5, 9 am to 1 pm
Yard Sale – We need donations from everyone for this – be saving up and bring it to us that morning. If you have any large items that need to be brought early, let us know so we can come up with a plan.
Bake Sale – Help by bringing treats to sell to those waiting to have their car washed.
Car wash – Help by bringing buckets, sponges, etc. The students will need to sign up to help for this part. * We will be having 2 locations this time to hopefully double the car wash income!
2018 SPRING BAND CAMP SATURDAY, MAY 12 | 9 am-6 pm
All students who wish to participate in the 2018 Marching Band must attend this Spring Camp unless excused by Mr. Pace prior to this date.
We will introduce all students to basic marching fundamentals, assign our “big brother/big sister” buddies, work on our fundamental music exercises, and even play some of the 2018 show music! Lunch will be provided.
PARENT INFO SESSION FOR BAND 2018 SATURDAY, MAY 12 | 5-6 pm
All parents, especially new parents, are invited to come for the last hour of Spring Camp when we will go over important information that parents need to know and discuss what to expect with Marching Band 2018.
