Boosters Meeting Minutes - September 5, 2017

Meeting began at 6:05 pm

Carleen welcomed the parents to the Band Booster Meeting.


  • Every weekend in October has a competition

  • 1 st competition is September 16 th at Mauldin High School for the Greenville County Exhibition

  • Test our timing for entrance and exit

  • Serve food before

  • Get there early to watch

  • Need drivers for equipment

  •  For competition days we will need:

  • Early prep for water bottles and costumes

  • Chaperones

  • Food

  • Late clean up

  • Props

  • Plan to sit together as a group to cheer on our band

Football Games:

  • JV/C-Team game on Thursday – we need volunteers for concessions and chaperones


  • Wendy’s Spirit Night is Tuesday September 12 th from 5:30 -8:30 pm

  • Yard Sale, Bake Sale and Car Wash are scheduled for Saturday, September 23 rd from 9-1 pm

  • Donate items

  • Make goodies

  • Sell car wash tickets for $5

  • In the front parking lot

  • Ms. Wines will advertise on school website and school sign

  • Ian will use ebay and craigslist if needed for higher end items donated

  • Tracy is still working out a drop off location

**Parent suggestion – check with Walmart – they will supply car wash items and match funds raised

  • Fruit Sales – Month of September

  • No tangelos

  • Kids will get brochure today

  • Can still donate without buying fruit

  • We will have a Facebook message by the end of the week that can be forwarded

  • Kids should bring in orders every Thursday to be entered into a drawing on Friday for prizes

  • They need to sell 7 boxes each

  • Delivery date is arranged a few days in advance

**Parent comment – do we have a plan B if hurricane Irma destroys the crop? We will check with the company after the storm to confirm they have enough stock.


  • Kathryn passed out the budget (proposed) to show where the money raised is going

Other Items:

  • Remind Text 81010 @whhsmar to be added to Ms. Wines text updates and reminders for kids

  • Homecoming volunteers needed

  • Band calendar is considered during planning. Ms. Wines sits on the committee

  • We have 72 kids on the marching band roster

  • Uniform should be in before September 16 th competition so kids will need to wear long black socks. Shoes and compression shirts will be handed out that week.

Spirit Wear

  • Next order will be placed the end of next week in order to have it back before the 1 st competition

  • Show shirts – size and color is only for a limited time

  • Have a new female cut tshirt with the band logo
