Here are some reminders and information about band activities from the Band Boosters and A.J. Pace, Director of Bands.


Monday, September 25 Full band rehearsal 4-6 pm

Tuesday, September 26 Rehearsal, 4-7 pm

Thursday, September 28 - NOTE LATER TIME Rehearsal, 6-9 pm, athletic field

Saturday, September 30 - Laurens Invitational

7:45 AM – Call time at WHHS for rehearsal 8:00 AM – Rehearsal 10:30 AM – Load Truck 11:15 AM – Dismiss for lunch/shower 12:30 PM – Call time at school – change into show clothes 1:00 PM – Leave for Laurens District 55 HS 1:45 PM – Arrive at Laurens District 55 HS – Unload 2:45 PM – Stretch and visual Warm-up 3:15 PM – Walk to music warm-up 3:30 PM – Music warm-up 4:20 PM – Staging 4:30 PM – Perform 5:00 PM – Load truck then change into jeans/shorts and show shirts (dinner after the truck is loaded) 6:30 PM – In the stands watching bands 8:30 PM – Awards ceremony (Leadership will need to change back into costume before awards) 9:00 PM – Depart Laurens District 55 HS 9:45 PM – Arrive at WHHS and unload 10:30 PM – Dismiss

Thank you to all of you who have already volunteered to help with various roles.

  • So far, 46 of 113 parents on our roster (40.7%) have signed up for at least one spot.

  • 274 volunteer slots have been filled so far out of 523 (52.4%)

  • We still have 249 slots to fill for you to choose from.

If everyone volunteers a little time, no one will have to do it all. We still need volunteers to sign up for shifts in all volunteer areas, especially this Thursday's concessions and many spots for this weekend's competition!

Show Shirts & Spirit Wear - order this week!

If you would like to order your own show shirt, or any other WHHS Bands spirit wear, to wear to cheer on the band at competitions over the next month, please ORDER THIS WEEK!

Items usually come about a week from when the group order is sent.

Being part of the band includes requirements for both students and parents. At this point in the season, we should have all payments made and forms completed. As of now:

  • 4 students have unpaid band fees ($150 paid to the school)

  • 8 students have not paid for the accessories package they already received ($15)

  • 5 non-guard students have not paid for the compression shirt ($15)

  • 6 non-guard students have not paid for band shoes ($36)

  • 4 parents and students haven't completed the band form online, which means we have no health information and no emergency contact information

PLEASE get these items completed so we can focus on making great band.

If you are unsure what you owe, please go to to see any orders with a balance due.

To complete the band form, go to, log in, complete and submit.

Please contact Mr. Pace if you are unable to complete these payments.

FRUIT SALE - through October 2

All band members are asked to participate in our annual Fruit Sale. We've asked students to start turning in orders and money each week by practice Thursday to be eligible for the weekly "Fruity Friday" drawings.

  • Fruit will be delivered to the school in early December

  • Goal is 7 boxes per student

  • ONLINE ORDERS accepted at

  • Check/cash orders should be placed in the envelope and checks made to WHHS Band Boosters.

  • Donations (instead of fruit) are always accepted!

Note: Florida Indian River Groves has let us know that their damage from Irma was minimal and they don't expect any issues in delivering the fruit that is ordered as scheduled.
