Meeting began at 6:30 pm

Carleen welcomed the parents to the Band Booster Meeting.

Board Vote:

 Quorum for Board Vote (12 Boosters present). Sign up attached.

 Carleen reviewed the booster board positions and job descriptions including the volunteer positions.

 Motion to accept the current board nominees? Shawn Sperry Motioned with Curt Blackmon seconding the motion and all boosters present accepted.

Next Year:

 Band Camp – reviewed band camp schedule.

o July 31 st through August 11 th , 9-1 and 5-9.

o Parent raised the concern about kids riding in other kids’ cars during the break period. We

will address this concern and determine a good safe way for kids to sign in and out and

confirm who they can ride with.

o We are going to give them more opportunities to interact with each other

 Band Fee will be $150.00 and will cover their uniform. Due the last day of band camp.

 Band members will also have to participate in individual fundraising ($300.00) in which sponsorships can off-set this cost.

o Anything donated to the band in which the Boosters do not need to buy or come out of

pocket can count towards this fundraising.

 Competition Dates –

o Greenville County Exhibition – September 16 th at Mauldin High School

o Laurens – September 30 th

o Byrnes – October 7 th

o Blythewood Tournament of Bands – October 14 th (Fall Break)

o Upperstate – October 21 st

o State – October 28 th

 Christmas Parade – usually the first Saturday in December (Dec 2 nd )

Q&A:

 Gift in Kind letter for sponsors

o There is a link on the website to complete this information.

o Would be good to take this information and create a form letter (with FEI number) on

WHHS Band Booster letter head that can be downloaded from website for parents to

take to business for donations.

 Create a form for different levels of donations:

o $25.00 = T-shirt

o $100.00 = Email signature

o $500.00 = Banner

o $1000.00 = Trailer logo

1. Sign up for next year!! Recruit, recruit, recruit!!!

2. Start thinking about sponsors and donations
