WEEKLY REMINDERS August 23, 2016
Here are some reminders and information about this week's activities from the Band Boosters and A.J. Pace, Director of Bands.
The band is improving at a very, very fast rate. I am very proud of the students and you should be too. We have a wonderful set of students that are in the midst of unearthing potentials that I don't think any of them realized they can do. Band is a wonderful family, and I am grateful to have the opportunity to work with your students!

Thank you for continuing to keep your kids supplied with water and in light-weight clothing at practice. It is still August, and still HOT! GET YOUR BAND GEAR ORDER IN BY NEXT WEEK! Shirts, sweatshirts, polos, hats and more - students are encouraged to promote the band with casual wear, and family and friends will want Band Gear to show their pride while cheering them on at competitions. The order being sent next week should get the gear in hand by the first competition.
BAND BOOSTERS MEETING - Tuesday, September 6th All parents or guardians of a student in the WHHS Band are members of the WHHS Band Boosters. As a booster member/parent, the expectation is that you will attend the booster meetings held generally on the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the band room. TUESDAYS ARE SNEAK PEEK DAYS On Tuesdays, weather permitting, the band will be practicing at the field inside the track near the Athletic Parking area. Come early for pick up and park at the upper Athletic Parking, and you'll get a peek at the progress the band is making. FUNDRAISING UPDATE We now have 11 out of 60 students who have turned in at least $50 in donations raised. We've asked that this be completed by September 1 for ALL students, so please ask friends, family and local businesses and get those donations in! Band Fruit Sale info coming next week! If you have accounting experience, we need your help with the upcoming Band Fruit Sale.
If any parents have fundraising experience and are comfortable asking for donations, we could use your help too!
PARENT VOLUNTEERS Thank you to all of you who have completed the volunteer interest form. For those who have signed up for football game concessions and other volunteer help, we've started sending out the emails with a link to "Sign Up" pages, where you'll pick the actual shift you can work. Thank you in advance for getting that completed quickly so we can determine any holes in the schedule. If you haven't yet completed your parent volunteer form, we really need that soon so we know where you can help. We can't do it without you!
ONGOING CONCESSIONS DONATIONS NEEDED Do you shop at Sam's, Costco, or Walmart? We have items we need in larger quantities for concessions, and if each band family picked up one item on their next shopping trip, we could turn each into a larger profit for the band.
